The Surgical Instrument Technician role has many physical demands: bending, stretching, lifting 20 lb. instrument sets. You will be pushing equipment, carts, etc.
Shift is full-time nights, 3 (12-hour) shifts/week: 7p-8a Wednesday, Thursday, FridayYou will work independently from 11:30p-6:30a.Will be on call Saturday 8a-Sunday 7p every 4-6 weeks.
On Call pay is $2 per hour with 1.5 pay if called in. You will be paid a minimum of two hours if called in regardless of time worked.
Typical on call shifts last 3-4 hours once during On Call period. MUST be reliable during training and work shifts.
Training will be during the day either 6:30a-2:30p or 7a-3p Monday - Friday for 4-6 weeks. Training could be less depending on background.Must have positive attitude. Must be team player.
What You Will Do
Inspect, assemble and evaluate all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.
Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
Inspect instruments, equipment and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Central Service Tech credentialed from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
