The Facilities HVAC Technician I will perform duties for Medxcel throughout the assigned working location of St. Vincent Hospital - Anderson, IN. The Facilities HVAC Technician I installs, operates and maintains the organization’s heating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The Facilities HVAC Technician I is responsible for identifying repair and/or replacement needs, then completing installations and repairs. This position also conducts preventative maintenance and upgrades for HVAC systems and equipment. The Facilities HVAC Technician I assists associates within and outside of their trade.
Maintaining HVAC systems:
Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on all heating, air conditioning, ice making, refrigeration, and ventilation systems
Maintains and applies current knowledge of steam distribution, piping, valves, chilled and hot water reheat systems and Pressure Reducing Value (PRV) operation
Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance
Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
Maintains knowledge of departmental equipment procedures for power outages
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations
Maintains vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition
May coordinate, maintain, and repair all energy management systems
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
5 years experience in the field OR applicable certification required in lieu of high school diploma
Some High School or Equivalent preferred
License/Certification:
Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification
Valid Driver’s License required
Experience:
- At least three years of HVAC experience preferred
