Where you fit in
The Farm Project Coordinator will be responsible for overall and daily planning, organization, supervision and administration of activities related to Community Hospital Anderson’s farm program.
Design and manage a working Farm with attention to efficiency and aesthetics
Oversee the Employee Garden.
Develop and adhere to annual budgets. a. Budget annually for seeds, starts, tools, equipment.
Plan season a. Plant map and seeding/planting schedule. b. Align crop production with the needs of hospital departments.
Maintain, harvest, and deliver produce.
Effectively communicate with departments within the hospital a. Communicate with Food and Nutrition for delivery schedule and harvest numbers b. Communicate with Dietitians for Class harvest numbers, delivery, and dates that the Farmer teaches. c. Communicate with the Gift Shop for cut flowers, harvest dates and deliveries. d. Communicate with Community Relations and Community Hospital Anderson Foundation regarding media and events. e. Create and maintain Farm calendar (works with ISS, PR, and Foundation). f. Contact Maintenance when issues arise (irrigation, storage sheds, door locks, art pieces, office area, etc.).
Your exceptional qualifications
4 year / Bachelor's Degree : Bachelor’s Degree. (Required)
Minimum of two (2) years of farming experience utilizing organic practices on mixed vegetable farm(s) or market garden(s) (Required)
Farmer or farm manager, horticulturalist, landscape design expert or other agricultural field (Required)
6-month apprenticeship on a farm that resulted in knowledge of seasonal planting, plant and soil science, food market and food systems. Other certifications in pesticide use, nutrition, dietetics, administration and management helpful (Required)
Community outreach, community development, public health, and/or volunteer coordinating experience (Required)
Additional requirements
- Must have a valid State of Indiana driver’s license
